ENABLING WORKS – DECEMBER 2023
This month, which is traditionally a short month in the building industry has seen several key developments that are preparing the site for the main construction work. Here’s a look at what’s been happening:
1. Road Base to Laydown Area Completed
The road base for the laydown area has been successfully completed. This area will serve as a key logistics hub for the construction site, allowing materials and equipment to be stored safely and efficiently. Having this in place is a crucial step in maintaining the organization and momentum of the project as we move forward with construction.
2. Site Geotechnical Testing Results
Confirmed the majority of the site consists of "builders sand" any Bunnings store would take to sell at $6 a bag. Future excavation therefore expected to be very easy. Minor limestone pinnacle deposits were detected in some locations at depth that was unlikely to impact piling rig future piling.
3. Piling Rig Mobilised to Site
The piling construction rig along with associated machinery was delivered to site just prior to Christmas. An exciting development ensuring early mobilisation of works in the New Year.
4. Colorbond Fencing Installed
Colorbond fencing was installed around the entire site replacing the temporary fencing in place. This fencing provides a higher level of security to the site and is of high standard befitting the location of the development in the heartland of Nedlands.
Looking Ahead
The site is now well prepared for commencement of the significant piling works which will encircle the entire site for the basement construction phase of the project.
As always, we’ll keep you informed as things move forward. If you have any questions or want more information about the development, don’t hesitate to reach out. Stay tuned for more updates!
