CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – MAY 2025

With cooler weather now settling in, activity on site has continued at pace as we edge closer to completion at The Gardens. Following a major milestone last month with the building structure now officially topped out, attention has shifted toward key structural detailing, services, and internal finishes.

The past months have seen a remarkable transformation across the project — from early site preparation and piling through to full structure, façade works, and the layering in of essential services. May has continued that momentum, with the team tackling a number of highly technical and complex components of the build, and a remarkable milestone – the beginning of the suspended pool construction.

Progress Highlights:

  1. Level 5 Planter Walls Continue
Level 5 planter walls continued to take shape, framing the upper rooftop spaces.

  2. Courtyard Stairs & Low Height Walls Continue
Courtyard stairs and low-height walls progressed steadily, helping to define the shared garden zones into a magnificent open area courtyard.

  3. Suspended Pool Shell Construction Commenced
Construction of the impressive 20-metre-long by 2.8-metre-wide pool shell commenced. The floor and outrigger beams were poured this month — a major engineering achievement. Weighing over 120 tonnes (excluding water), the pool structure is suspended in air via a series of sophisticated acoustic springs to eliminate all sound transfer. Once complete, it will be an engineering and architectural showpiece.

  4. Acrylic Render Commenced Externally (Level 1–4)
Acrylic rendering began to the external facades from Level 1 through to Level 4.

  5. Level 2–3 Services Installation Continued
Mechanical and electrical service installation continued across these levels.

  6. Level 3–4 Stud Walls Constructed
Framing of internal partitions continued on higher floors.

  7. Level 2–3 Ceiling Installation Commenced
Internal ceiling systems began taking shape on these levels.

  8. Level 2 Flushing Commenced
Flushing of walls (joint treatment and preparation) started on Level 2.

  9. Level 4 External Walls & Soffit Insulation Commenced
Thermal and acoustic insulation works began for external components.

  10. Basement 1 Blockwork Completed
Structural walling in Basement 1 was finalised.

  11. Ceiling Framing Commenced (Ground & Level 1)
Ceiling sub-structure works began across lower floors.

  12. Fire Pump Connections Completed
Final connections were made to the building’s fire pump system, marking another step in essential services completion.

Looking Ahead

As we head into June, the pace of finishing works and detailing will continue to intensify — with the team remaining focused on high quality outcomes and delivering this landmark development.
