CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – MARCH 2024

As we progress into March, our apartment development is moving into critical phases of the construction of the basement structures. Each step is bringing us closer to the completion of the basement construction phase of this project. Here are the latest updates from the site:

Progress Highlights

1. Forming Pile Capping Beam

The formwork for the pile capping beam is currently being constructed. This process involves creating a mould or frame that will shape the concrete beam, ensuring the structure is strong and properly aligned. The capping beam will distribute the building’s load evenly across the piles, forming a crucial part of the building’s ultimate foundation.

2. Tying Reinforcement to Pile Beams

Our team is in the process of tying the steel reinforcement to the pile beams. This reinforcement is key to strengthening the concrete beam, ensuring that it can handle the structural loads of the building above. Once this step is complete, the pile capping beam will be ready for concrete pouring.

3. Pour & Finish Concrete to Pile Capping Beam

Following the preparation of the reinforcement, we have commenced pouring and finishing the concrete for the pile capping beam. This is a pivotal stage in creating the foundation that will support the main structure of the building. The concrete is being carefully poured and finished to ensure durability and precision.

4. Bulk Excavation of Upper Basement Level

Bulk excavation for the upper basement level is well underway. This process involves removing large quantities of earth to prepare the basement space. The excavation is progressing in stages to ensure the site remains stable and safe for ongoing work.

5. Cleaning Piles after Excavation

After the excavation work, the piles are being cleaned to remove any soil or debris. This ensures that the piles are in optimal condition to support the next stages of construction, including the capping beam and subsequent structural elements.

6. Commenced Pile Anchor Installation

Pile anchor installation has commenced on-site. These anchors help provide additional lateral support to the piles, reinforcing the foundation as the basement structure is built. This step is critical to ensuring the long-term stability of the building, particularly as we excavate deeper into the basement levels.

Looking Forward

As we move into the next stages of construction, we’ll focus on completing the pile capping beam and continuing with the bulk excavation. We’re steadily making progress toward completing the basement levels, after which the above-ground structure will begin to rise.

Stay tuned for more updates as we advance to the next phases. If you have any questions or need further details, feel free to reach out!
