CONSTRUCTION UPDATE – DECEMBER 2024

As we approach the end of the year, construction at The Gardens continues to progress at an impressive pace. December has seen significant structural developments, with key milestones reached across multiple levels of the building.

Progress Highlights

1. Level 2 Area 2 Slab Poured

The concrete slab for Level 2 Area 2 has been successfully poured, forming a critical component of the building’s structural integrity. This milestone ensures that work on the next levels can proceed as planned.

2. AFS Level 3 Area 1 Installed

Installation of the AFS (Advanced Formwork Systems) for Level 3 Area 1 is now complete. The AFS Wall system is a highly efficient permanent formwork solution, featuring fibre cement sheets bonded to galvanized steel stud frames. These walls, once core-filled with concrete, provide superior fire resistance and acoustic performance while serving as a durable base for internal and external finishes.

3. Central Lift Well Core, External & Southwest Area 2 Walls Poured

The central lift core, along with the external and southwest Area 2 walls, has been successfully poured. This marks a crucial phase in the structural development of the building, providing essential support and stability.

4. Electrical Substation Walls & Slab Prep Completed

Preparations for the electrical substation walls and slab have been finalised, setting the stage for upcoming electrical infrastructure installations.

5. Level 2 Precast Columns Installed

The installation of precast columns on Level 2 has been completed. These load-bearing elements play a vital role in transferring structural loads from the upper floors to the foundation, ensuring overall building stability.

6. Level 3 Area 1 Formwork Completed

The formwork for Level 3 Area 1 is now in place, enabling the next phases of reinforcement and concrete pouring.

7. Level 3 Area 1 Pre-lays Commenced

Preliminary works, including essential pre-lays, have started for Level 3 Area 1 in preparation for further structural development.

8. Level 3 Area 1 Reinforcement Added

Reinforcement installation is underway, enhancing the structural integrity of Level 3 Area 1 before concrete pouring begins.

9. Ground Floor Stud Walls Progressing

Internal stud wall framing on the ground floor continues to take shape, defining various spaces within the building.

10. Ground Floor Services Reticulation Commenced

Work on the ground floor services reticulation has commenced, ensuring that essential utilities such as plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems are efficiently integrated into the building.
